Farm Safety Day '05The Escambia County Soil & Water Conservation District hosted its 3rd annual Farm Safety Day on October 19, 20, and 21st, 2005. This event was held at the Brewton Experiment Field on Kirkland Road. Approximately 450 fifth grade students from W. S. Neal Middle School, Flomaton Middle School, McCall, Huxford, Escambia Middle School and some Homeschool students participated in the event this year. The children learned about Chemical Awareness, Sun Safety, All-Terrain Vehicle Safety, First-Aid, 911 Awareness, Animal Safety, Electrical Safety, and Tractor Safety. Each student, teacher and volunteer received a t-shirt and a goody bag filled with items donated by local sponsors. This year's Farm Safety Day was made possible by the generous support of Escambia County Soil & Water Conservation District, Southern Pine Electric Cooperative, Auburn University Experiment Stations (Brewton), Al Cooperative Extension System, Escambia County Health Dept., E-911, BACE Engineering Solutions, Kenny's Motor Sports, The Farm Center, Escambia County Humane Society, Magnolia Superfoods and McDonalds (Brewton).
Many organizations and local businesses worked together to make this event a huge success again this year.
